Right after our breakfast in Gold Coast, we made our way to the Glass House Mountains. These are up to 12 former volcano hills that stand in the middle of the flat land. Once again, we were up for some hiking.
Then we headed towards Noosa. We had a small, uncomplicated and inexpensive camping spot outside by a lake in mind, but it was closed at the end of October, which we found out shortly before we arrived.
A bit frustrated, we started looking for an alternative. We found one at another lake in Boreen Point. However, the weather was still not better, so we couldn't really enjoy the lake. But we made use of the bad weather and pretended to be in cold Switzerland by preparing the fondue that Rahel had brought with us...Mhmmm delicious.
In our short time on the road, we have realized that we learn something new almost every day. For example, when you see something special that you would like to buy or a beautiful spot where you want to stop, it's better to take care of it right away. You never know if you will come across it again. Another lesson we had to learn the hard way was that you better always take your belongings with you when you go on trips from the campground. Otherwise, you suddenly miss a power cable that you have to buy again. ;-)
Next, we already went to Rainbow Beach, where the briefing for the three-day Fraser Island trip took place in the evening. Better weather was also in store. :)
