#08 - Flinders Ranges (08.12. - 10.12.16)

Wɔatintim: 06.01.2017

In Cairns Lukas and I then found a relatively cheap offer for a campervan relocation:

Start: Adelaide - 16 days - Arrival: Sydney

From the tropical north, the next flight went south to Adelaide. Climate-wise, it was definitely a change again, as you had to rely on long pants and a sweater in the evenings.

Here's our accommodation on wheels for the next few days:

With all the camping equipment you need. Table and chairs, refrigerator, gas stove, water tank, plates, cutlery... everything is in great shape and hardly a scratch (yet...).

Our first destination: get out of the city... heading towards the Outback to Flinders Ranges National Park

Actually, a pretty good idea to get used to driving on the left side of the road in Australia. You often feel the urge to drive into oncoming traffic or activate the windshield wipers instead of signaling properly. But after a short adjustment period, it works out eventually... we had more than 500 km for that ;)

We made our first stop at a beautiful salt lake:

Wasn't actually planned, but apparently Australia has surprises around every corner :)

Just a little midday snack:

No one in sight... just a slightly crazy guy from Switzerland :)

The first time bush camping:

Entertainment at night:

On the trail of the Aborigines:

And always up for fun :D

To be continued...
