Three days ago, after a 1.5-hour train ride, I arrived back in Dublin. The circle is complete, I'm back where my little journey through the south of Ireland began. My hotel (The Gresham) is on O'Conell Street, so I'm right in the middle of the city again. I used the time to get to know Dublin a little better. I took the bus (Hop on / Hop off), visited some more parks and also went to the Guinness Storehouse. The Guinness Storehouse was quite entertaining. There's a lot of show on six floors. The best part is the panoramic bar on the top floor. From there you have a great view over Dublin. Yesterday as I was walking through the city, I noticed that there were many Austrians here. I thought, what's going on here, is there Kaiser's pancake somewhere? But then I found out that yesterday the World Cup qualification match between Ireland and Austria took place here. I tried to get a ticket, no chance. I watched the game in a pub with a good atmosphere (1-1). Today I will go for a relaxing farewell beer, because my journey is coming to an end. Tomorrow at 2:25 p.m. I will start heading home.
It was a great time here and I experienced and saw a lot. The best part was the days of hiking, a great experience. Cork was nice and Kilkenny worth seeing. Dublin certainly doesn't have as much to offer as other big capitals in Europe, but the city has its charm.
I hope you enjoyed being a part of it. I look forward to seeing you again. See you soon.
