Yesterday was dedicated to Roman settlements and castle ruins.
In mixed weather, we went to the nearby Glanum, where one of the oldest Roman settlements was excavated and restored for over 40 years. Nestled in the beautiful nature with its blooming trees, it was quite an impressive sight.
After an extensive visit, we headed towards Fort de Buoux. On the way, we stopped in a village surrounded by lavender fields. Unfortunately, the lavender is not yet in bloom. But we were able to buy some delicacies at the local market. Beer from a local brewery, almonds marinated in olive oil, and spices.
As we were craving for coffee, we also stopped at a patisserie along the way. The coffee was very 'petit' and the cake was very sweet. Yammi, Yammi
Finally, we arrived at Fort de Buoux and started hiking uphill. The fort is a complex village that stretches across the entire mountain range. And it was a steep uphill climb. In the ruins themselves, climbing was sometimes necessary, but the view was definitely worth it. After descending, we quickly found a parking spot and spent a peaceful night.
