After a shared breakfast, we went our separate ways again and the two of us headed towards Vimmerby. Everything in and around Vimmerby revolves around the stories of Astrid Lindgren. There is a theme park for children and all sorts of attractions related to Astrid Lindgren. However, we were more interested in the filming locations of Lindgren's movies. As we grew up with these stories and films, it was nice to experience the places "live" for once. First, we went to Bullerbü, the filming location of the movies "Children from Bullerbü". However, the filming location is not actually in the village of Bullerbü, but in Sevedstorp. This little village really only consists of the three houses that are seen in the film. We learned that one of the houses was the home of Astrid Lindgren's father.
We looked at all the houses, but we couldn't go inside as they are still inhabited. We had cake and coffee at the cafe and then continued towards Katthult.
Katthult Farm was the main filming location for all the "Michel from Lönneberga" movies. It was incredibly fascinating there. The nature around the farm immediately brought back memories of the movies. When we arrived at the farm, we could visit everything. Except for the residential house, where people still live, the buildings were freely accessible. There was the house of the farmhand "Alfred", the outdoor toilet where Michel locked up his father, and of course the famous carpenter's shed. All the rooms were exactly preserved as they were seen in the film. There were even pigs, sheep, goats, and horses.
The house of the farmhand "Alfred".
The outdoor toilet.
The residential house.
And our favorite, Michel's carpenter's shed, with the direct path to the pantry.
We enjoyed the beautiful farm for some time and then drove a few kilometers further to our sleeping spot.
This time, it was by a lake again. When we arrived, there were already three motorhomes there. We had some food and in the evening, one of our neighbors made a big bonfire. Gradually, everyone else joined and we did too, and it became a cozy evening by the campfire.
