I've already written about how we spent the morning of my birthday in the last blog post: a totally cozy breakfast with really nice people. After eating, we packed up our stuff again and thought about what we wanted to do for the day. Because we were both pretty tired from the past few days and we've experienced so much, we felt like having a relaxed day. So we found a nice campground with all the amenities and spent the day there. For $47, we had a pool, a restaurant where we could have dinner in the evening, a laundry room, an electrical hookup, and even our own bathroom at the caravan site.
We took care of a few organizational things, went shopping again, and then settled down at the pool. That's where I had my birthday mini cupcakes. Yummy! The pool was also really nice and refreshing. The water in the pools in the area is somehow not chlorinated like ours, but rather cloudy and a tiny bit salty. It's very pleasant.
In the evening, a lot of children suddenly came to the pool, so we went back to our spot. Then we changed clothes and went to the restaurant. It was quite expensive, but we wanted to treat ourselves for my birthday. Actually, Andi even paid for me, so sweet :)
We both had the daily special, Prawn Penne. So penne with shrimp. It was absolutely delicious! It was the first time I had a dish with shrimp on my own. Usually, I just tasted. But with the garlic cream tomato sauce on it, it was really good. And Andi had a Guinness and I had a Strongbow Cider. Also good! We really enjoyed the meal. Together, we paid about 65 AUD. Quite a sum :D
After eating and chatting, it was already quite late and we went to bed. So we really didn't do much on my birthday, but it was a great day :)
