Local, Anse Lazio&Co...

Wɔatintim: 02.11.2021

Today we're going to go back to Anse Lazio (you remember, one of the top 10 beaches in the world). The way there leads past all the beaches on the east coast of Praslin, you could simply stop at each one for a few photos and we make a little stop at Anse Velbert - the most touristy area of the island. But even if you talk about tourism here, the small town with its two souvenir shops and few cafes&restaurants still seems very sleepy - but that's what's beautiful here in the Seychelles.

After this short stop, we continue towards the north and when we arrive at Anse Lazio, we park the car and walk the last few meters to the beach. However, today the sea seems to be a bit more rough than during our last visit, but we still want to try snorkeling. Nevertheless, we quickly realize that the conditions today are not optimal for this, the sand is churned up and the fish scared away by the stronger waves.

Therefore, we explore the beach and the adjacent bays on foot. This is really quite funny, you have to climb over some rocks again and again to get from bay to bay - one more beautiful than the other. Each one is lined with the famous granite rocks for which the Seychelles are famous, which almost tempt you to sit down on them and enjoy the view of the sea, the beach and the holidaymakers.

On this exploration tour, we also meet some locals, after all, the bay is a popular destination for them on weekends. In addition, here in paradise, November 1st is a Friday, so not only we, but also the Seychellois are in holiday mood. Music is played on the beach, local people grill freshly caught fish, children play under coconut palms and we are right in the middle - it couldn't be more authentic. We quickly start talking to the locals, we feel that they are really happy that tourists take a little time to talk to them and we are equally happy.

So we spend the morning at Anse Lazio and on the way back we make a stop to swim in the luxury pool of the day before, this time the payment is made with a freshly mixed fruit juice made from pineapple, papaya, banana&co, the best drink we have had here on the islands so far.

We enjoy the holiday atmosphere, drive along the coastal road with the windows open and the sea breeze towards home - that's what a holiday feels like - just save it and live the moment...

Back home we watch the sunset from the beach in front of our front door and are already looking forward to tomorrow, when we have planned a boat tour to some surrounding islands for snorkeling&co.
