We have been delighted by centuries-old buildings, towers, and city walls on our journey so far. Today, after 725 km on the bike, the landscape was particularly beautiful. Where there was a primeval sea 150 million years ago, there are now towering pillars and walls made of limestone to admire. The Archaeopteryx was found here. The Altmühl river winds its way through the hilly landscape and the cycle path almost always accompanies it directly. A great leisure region with castles, cycling and hiking trails, and many paddlers. We passed a stork biotope in the Altmühl meadows. Pure nature. In Eichstätt, we stayed in a bike room recommended to us by a family member.
