Day 12

It was raining and getting noisy on the bus. I didn't have breakfast today either and was on my way to Arcachon. I got a sandwich and decided to explore the small town on foot today.🏃‍♂️ I walked along the promenade, it was a pleasant 19 degrees without sun. I had my sandwich on the beach.

Just as I finished, it started drizzling🌧. But it quickly stopped and I diverted from the promenade to get to the shopping streets. I saw many small nice shops, but I needed a new cap. I found a skater shop, but the selection was rather limited. So I walked around the narrow streets for a bit and then returned to the bus. My parking spot for the night was relatively close to the Dune de Pyla, in the village of Le Pilat Plage. I parked, packed my backpack, and walked to the dune. I had a terrible earworm from the song "Wonderful Life" by Seeed. I hummed the melody the whole time😅 The sun came out and I arrived at the dune.

Wow, what a giant. Off with the shoes, hiking mode on, and up the dune. You can also go up from the other side, there is a staircase, but that's for beginners and tourists. So I zigzagged my way up and voila, I was on top. It took me 20 minutes. Not bad.

I soaked up the sun for a bit and of course took some touristy pictures. I stomped back down, which was much easier, and then wrote a bit in my blog at the bus. Today, I had pasta with pesto again. There was also dessert. Beer and chocolate pudding😁. After doing the dishes, I sat by the sea, watched some anglers, and enjoyed the sunset. Awesome day👍🏼
