Off to the North.

Arrived in Chiang Mai, quite late, so not much to do except taking a walk around the block. We've already booked the hostel beforehand and they have a 24-hour check-in here. Due to a virus, Day 1 is spent completely in bed. Fortunately, our hostel is very clean, the showers are hot, and the rooms are very quiet. So I'm handling it pretty well.

Day 2, I'm feeling better, so first we make a plan. First, we take a walk around the area and explore some culture, which honestly is enough after 3 temples. It's really crazy how many there are.

Then we rent a scooter, meet up with the Canadians from Lanta again, and go swimming together at the Grand Canyon. The traffic is really something to get used to. We also have a gentleman from Sweden with us, who didn't sleep much last night and is still visibly ruined.

At the canyon, you can jump off a cliff. Despite being fully convinced not to do it, I jump into the cool water 3 minutes later. 8m. 🙈

So we splash around a bit, watch the Chinese who can't swim and almost drown, and of course help them back to shore.

Enough of that, back to the hostel, quickly get our hair cut, and off we go to pick up the others and head to the Nightmarket. It's a funny group here, we now have Canada with us again, once the Netherlands, and a Frenchman.

Spontaneously, we decide to visit a Muay Thai stadium, and that was definitely the right decision. Pretty intense fights. 👌🏽

After a nightcap beer, we quickly head towards the bed, maybe to find a livestream for today's game, in addition, we need to be fit for tomorrow because we're going on an elephant tour and we'll be picked up at 6 am. Congratulations on that.
