The beginning of a new chapter.

The moment I decided to create this blog was the moment I realized I'll never be the same person again after my time in Australia.

So why shouldn't I write all the thoughts & experiences down, that will forever change who I am and will be...

To start : I am not one of the Backpackers, that start right after finishing school, go for a big adventure, probably their first.

I've been raised quiet reasonably.

After I had finished highschool (I'm still surprised I made it ), I didn't know what's next, like everybody else I guess. I knew I'm not the study type of person, I would fail hard, if I'd go to university, so I decided to start an apprenticeship (reasonable, like I said ) while everybody else started some study path at a university.

Würzburg was my chosen city, so I moved out when I was twenty, got a good position quickly. I finished it after 2 years and after another 2 years of work there and a further education ( which I failed, told you) I got to this point.

The point everybody discovers at least once in his lifetime. I had to question myself over and over again: Why am I doing things, I don't like, just to pay bills for things I actually don't need. There must be more.

You work 5 days a week, at least 8 hours a day so you spend most of your time at work. As a result you should love what you do, put all your heart and soul in this precious time.

Everybody else around me seemed quiet satisfied with their lives. Having a save job, a boyfriend, their own car and flat (except the boyfriend I had it all ).

I grew up traveling, my family loves the warm areas of Europe: Spain, Turkey, Italy, Portugal etc ... Nothing special so far.

I needed a break.

After a trip to Thailand, I felt something within me has changed, the way I want to see the world, meet new people from different cultures. People in Thailand are so welcoming and kind to people they don't even know. They share their food with you, even they don't have much themselves. And of course: this amazing nature.

So I quit my job and flat, sold the car and a lot of unnecessary stuff and planned my trip to Australia.

And here I am. Up to now I've seen the street art in Melbourne, the coast lines of Sydney, Bundaberg's mandarin trees and Brisbane's bridges. I feel home far away from home. It might be the thrill of the unknown, maybe all these lovely people you meet, that share the same passion with you. I don't know, but I decided to be happy and less the person everybody else thinks I have to be.

I'm pretty sure moving to another continent is not the answer, but it's a start to a much happier life for me.
