I went to Canada because I got a very attractive job offer at a nature school and I missed the beavers. After working for a few days in the pouring rain on the west coast with little rascals, I now know why they call this area Rainforests. Despite my wet underwear and soaked banknotes, I really enjoyed the work and the school management also liked Maikääl (at least in terms of his work). But then at the last moment, a colleague came who first resigned, then didn't get his new job, then wanted to continue working at the school, then wanted to increase his workload, and also happens to be fucking great as a teacher. So Maikääl wasn't hired (yet) and was promised to be hired in the spring. So I was only halfway disappointed, took the bus, and drove from the rain to the snow. With a four-hour delay and several traffic jams, telephone lines on the road, ice on the road, avalanches on the road, and cars off the road, I arrived in Golden, my former home. The bus actually got stuck there because the highway was closed due to avalanche danger. And there Elora was waiting, a friend of Annina and me, and the delay was just normal in the winter. We drank beer in the warm room with her and her partner Shawn, and everything was good.

Someone was waiting for me. How many people are traveling every day, not just for fun or for a self-realization trip, but because they are forced to? No one is waiting for them with tasty beers and friendship at a snowy bus station.

I think a happy life is built on different pillars. One pillar is friendship (family and partnership also belong to this category). How nice is it to know that friends love you in your highs and lows and will wash your cap if needed. Another pillar is your calling, and if this calling can be integrated into a job, then that's a privilege. And last but not least, there is mental and physical health.

There are times in life when one of these pillars wavers. It's good to know that the others will hold and carry you.

Chocolate, snow, and cows are, of course, also important.
