Sweet but psycho - Week 4 with the Taurangas

Wɔatintim: 18.02.2019

First of all, I want to thank you for being interested in my blog. It means a lot to me that people read my little stories, which I enjoy writing so much.

Furthermore, I hope that the blog will soon pay off monetarily. So as soon as I write here about how amazing I find a yogurt whose manufacturer consists of the words Black Forest and milk, then I've made it.

Or I'll just continue writing the blog to let you participate a little in my time here in New Zealand. But seriously, if you want to pay for it, get in touch with me. I don't want to stop you. 😄

When I see that people invest their time to read from me, among other things, from home, I also feel a little bit like being part of your life and feel closer to Germany. I like that. 😊

After gaining readers as a blog author (or blog writer? I don't know what it's called in jargon), one has to bind them. This can be done either with controversial topics, spectacular stories, or nudity. Let's see what the upcoming blogs have in store. 😄

Today I will tell you spectacular things. But better not about my work.

I don't want to bore you with that every time. I'm already bored when I experience these things, so it must be even worse when reading them.

Furthermore, a draft of an office story was rejected by a critic. Unfortunately, rightly so. 😄

This time, I prefer to focus on the weekend. As the headline already suggests, we went on a trip to Tauranga. There we visited our Kehl classmates (gender inclusive!) Lari, Kathi, Willy, and Max, who are doing their internship abroad there.

Friday we started with the coach. I immediately got hungry there when the bus driver announced that eating is not allowed on the bus.

Since I, as Lisa (19), lead a life on the edge and the respectable suit wearer (in the ugliest organ-colored shirt) next to us started crumpling up his chips during the announcement, I dared to eat my bread later as well.

When the driver added in the announcement that you should fasten your seat belts, the Indian guy opposite me meticulously started looking for his seat belt. Unfortunately, his seat didn't have one, which he found rather mediocre. I didn't make myself more popular by telling him 'Probably, you're gonna die now.' He had to laugh a little though. During the journey, the bus started swaying in the curves and the previously dining suit wearer started to vomit into his bag. It was a so-called full-circle moment.

Stefan and I stayed overnight at Max and Willy's, who have two single-room apartments next to each other. As it should be, our girls stayed with the Tauranga girls. Thank you very much to Willy and Max, we have never had such good, committed, and funny hosts like you. Willy even let us stay in his apartment even though he has to take antibiotics. Thumbs up for that. Hopefully, you'll get some positive news now after the shitstorm on social media following your last mention by me. Max told me it was pretty bad.

I already mentioned Lari's and Kathi's Insta profile trvelbuddies. Thank you for not following them and therefore I couldn't get any beer in Tauranga. Can I exchange my fan base somewhere?

But I really didn't think that the two guys are bigger influencers than the girls.

If being an influencer were a a profession, Maximilian Greil and Willy Joe Grimme would have graduated with honors. Good planning, perfect snapshots, excellent image editing, and on-point Insta posting activities.

The two have an astonishing good eye for the right motive.

Saturday was filled with a hike or a walk (something in between) to Mount Maunganui and then chilling and grilling at the beach.

By the way, Max and I both hoped (independently) that our choice of outfit would get us a job offer from Baywatch Tauranga. Despite extensive posing, neither the offer nor Pamela Anderson in a swimsuit appeared. The lighting was also not optimal for us. 😄

In the evening, we went to a bar.

Conclusion: The beer was damn expensive and tasted pretty shitty. But well, at least we had beer again!

Throughout the evening, we saw the most terrifying bachelorette party of all time. Definitely all rugby players. No worries, Mom, I won't bring one of them. But I wish the bride all the best. ✌️

It was also surprising what goes on in New Zealand bar toilets. During one of my visits, the forty-year-old guy on the urinal to the right of me unexpectedly told me that the women in Auckland are much more attractive than in Tauranga. I would like to repeat his exact words because they were much more vulgar. But since children also read this (Zwalli), I better not.

At the same time, the guy on the urinal to the left of me made a video of himself for his Instagram story. While peeing. For whatever reason.

At midnight, last orders was announced in the bar. Too bad it doesn't work that way in Germany. Starting earlier and finishing earlier would be more sensible than going to the club at midnight.

The next morning, I was glad that we didn't come home late and that the beer didn't hit me so hard. An adventure trip was planned.

The goal for the day was to go to the Omanawa Waterfall. However, since it is located in a valley with steep walls, the path there is relatively 'dangerous' and actually closed.

Here are some excerpts from experience reports about it:

'It's not a hike, it's a climbing tour','You have to climb along roots and looking down makes you dizzy','There are three shaky ladders and the path is not marked', 'Tell someone where you are going before going there'.

Reading all this sometimes sounded as if the path would lead directly to Mordor.

In the end, it was a path that was sometimes a bit steep and on which one had to climb occasionally. It was rarely really dangerous.

The waterfall was ultimately incredibly beautiful. Therefore, the effort was worth it.

Sunday evening, we took the bus back to Auckland for 4 hours. A ride on a double-decker bus is wild here. New Zealand roads are constantly bumpy. It goes up, down, and from left to right. No wonder people vomit so often. I like taking the bus myself. It gives you some time to think and write blogs.

In conclusion, I have to say that nothing really spectacular happened this week. I could have pushed Loni down the hill for a story worth telling. But then I would miss her and she would have visited me as a revenge angel. 😄

That's it from me for today.

Greetings to the class of 2018 and congratulations on completing and (hopefully) passing your exams. I hope you celebrated appropriately. Like with the commitment of S. Schnüffler after our last exams.

Greetings to Max and Willy, it was an honor. Your IT group in Kehl promises to become legendary.

Lari and Kathi, it was great to meet you again and the waterfall was a great idea.

And finally, a virtual middle finger to the video referee from the Freiburg game against Wolfsburg. I have now seen the disallowed goal and can only say: You are completely crazy to decide that way.

That's it for today from someone who also doesn't have it all together.
