Hello dear,
From Siem Reap we took the bus to Kampot. Kampot is a small town just before the coast in the southeast of the country. We liked it so much here that we stayed for almost 10 days. On the first day we borrowed bicycles from our host Mr. Leng and explored the city. Here we also discovered a nice restaurant that we visited several times during our time here. Many elderly gentlemen gather here, who have probably emigrated to Cambodia and drink coffee and beer and solve crossword puzzles from morning to evening :D The following days we visited a pepper plantation, went on a beautiful canoe tour and enjoyed the good food. Actually, we wanted to make a little detour to Rabbit Island for a few days, but unfortunately it turned into only one night because I sprained my ankle and Ole ate something bad. Nevertheless, we liked the island very much. So we went back to Kampot, where my aching foot forced us to enjoy Kampot differently. Because of the Preaek Tuek Chhu, a large river that flows through Kampot, there are countless accommodations and bars with nice outdoor areas by the river. The following days consisted of hanging out by the water, dozing in hammocks, reading, feasting, and occasionally enjoying a cool beer or a delicious drink. Everything with the beautiful sunsets over Kampot, which we enjoyed almost every evening.
Best regards,
Ole and Lisbeth
