In the mornings, there is always a Greek coffee and a cheese pie. The weather was quite changeable and the route was long. The route went through the mountains of the Thripti range. An easy tour with gentle ascents and descents and lots of green in the highlands. Everything was very quiet and without other hikers. The interior of Crete is not interesting enough for most people. Luckily! I find the landscape wonderful and it is even more beautiful without tourists. In the first village, I took a break and had a Greek salad at the tavern. The service was terrible and, of course, the card reader was not working, these tax evaders. When I arrived in Chandras, I went to the tavern and asked for a room. After half an hour, a woman came and showed me a small room next to the church. It looked very nice and was supposed to cost a fair 35€. For translations, they always used the around 10-year-old Johanna. She had a bag for Greek school and one for English, and she did it very well. Very nice people and a very beautiful place where I felt comfortable.
