Queenstown didn't make it into my heart, but it got under my skin! After a month in only small Kaf towns and few tourists, Queenstown was really quite a tourist shock for me. The first day I tried to acclimatize and just walked through the city and enjoyed the sun by the lake. The next day we went to get a tattoo in the morning! 😍So my souvenir from New Zealand is also secured. After the best fish and chips in the city, I hiked up Queenstown Hill in the evening to watch the sunset. The view and the sunset were really gigantic. The next day I set off for the Ben Lomond summit quite early in the morning. Hiking for 2 1/2 hours in the blazing sun in New Zealand is actually quite strenuous. But you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view at the summit. Views over the Remarkables, the lake and the mountains all around - simply indescribable. Back in the valley we were rewarded with ice cream and then we spontaneously decided on a Ferg burger for dinner. Definitely lived up to its hype in New Zealand! In the meantime, we were able to admire another beautiful sunset with a beer. The next day I left pretty early for Te Anau for the next 3 days. Then I ended up back in Queenstown with my hitchhike taxis for another night. This time the arrival wasn't quite as shocking but it still won't be my favorite city in New Zealand but you definitely have to be here at least once. 🫶🏼
