Hello dear ones,
after a long journey, here is the first word and picture message from us. After the short hop from Stuttgart to Munich, we eagerly and eagerly awaited the check-in for the flight to Singapore. We were greeted by an Airbus A 350-900 from Lufthansa, the currently most modern long-haul aircraft in the world. As soon as we sat down, we were happy to discover that the third seat by the window next to us would remain free, and there was plenty of legroom in front of Magnus' long legs. We made ourselves comfortable in the economy class á la first class.
At least until a little child had a little screaming fit at 3 a.m. Since the child was probably not a good discussion partner for the surrounding passengers, they reluctantly turned to the frustrated parents and expressed their displeasure.
When the morning finally arrived, the sun was already shining through the window and after a turn in front of the Singapore skyline (which we would have liked to enjoy if it hadn't been so stuffy and foggy already), we landed safely. On the way to the ticket machine for the metro, we were approached by two Canadian tourists who were on their way home and they gave us their metro cards with 5 free rides each, there have been worse ways to arrive in a city =).
We quickly found the hostel, it's clean and centrally located, and now we're sharing a room with about 10 other young people, but hey, as long as the air conditioning works, it doesn't matter. With a humidity of 99.99% and 30 degrees, it's a relief.
After freshening up quickly, we went out again. Little India is right around the corner from the hostel, and - surprise, surprise - we had Indian food (very delicious!). The restaurant was actually only surrounded by Indians. Now we're lying in our sleeping bunks with full stomachs and tired heads, looking forward to a good night's sleep.
And we will definitely need it, because tomorrow we have a 5-hour city tour ahead of us, either we conquer Singapore or Singapore conquers us!
