What a day so far! We started at 3 o'clock and made good progress until just before Amsterdam. Traffic light on the highway, just before a tunnel. Well, we know that from Scotland. So we decided (we still had enough time) to take a detour to Zandvoort. The weather is so-so, but the sea, as always, is great. However, very cold... After our feet became numb, we walked into the city center for a fantastic breakfast. However, observed by sparrows and jackdaws (quite cheeky creatures).
After 30 minutes drive, we finally reached the harbor. Oh man, you always need a lot of patience to check in. Arriving in the belly of the ship (Princess Seaways from DFDS), we were taken up to the 8th floor by an elevator, where we were greeted by a steward and escorted to our Commodore suite. Outside cabin, complimentary minibar, on-call service. We have never traveled so elegantly before! However, I should not fail to mention that we are currently in the Dutch off-season and the Commodore suite is cheaper here than the bunk bed cabin on our return journey 😁.
Now we're signing off for today, as data roaming at sea is incredibly expensive. We'll be back tomorrow!
