At 6:30 am, we took a flight from Bremen to Eilat-Ovda. That means little sleep for everyone, but the five-hour flight offered enough time to catch up on sleep. The view from the plane shortly before arrival over the desert landscape was fantastic. Upon arrival in Israel, we were greeted by the heat that we had eagerly anticipated! Woo hoo! From Eilat-Ovda, we drove through the desert in a rented minibus, passing by some "Caution! - Camel" signs, but unfortunately we couldn't spot any, only a few ibex crossed our path. After a short stop at Machtesh Ramon, the world's largest erosion crater, we arrived in Tel Aviv around 6 pm. Our accommodation was very cozy and beautifully furnished, and from the rooftop terrace, we had a beautiful view over Jaffa. After dividing the rooms, we took a short walk through Jaffa, and from a small hill, we had a fascinating view of the millions of lights of the city. We got pitas with kebab from a small snack shop. However, after the long journey, we didn't have the energy for any major activities, so we spent the evening comfortably on our rooftop terrace.
