Leaving the Comfort zone - Sydney / 01.01. - 04.01.2019

Wɔatintim: 15.01.2019

Linni and I made the most of the last few days together. We started the new year with a delicious fruit platter from Paddy's Market and then explored the beautiful colorful streets of Glebe. We also treated ourselves to a fancy cake from a bakery at the shopping center as a goodbye and a celebration of our wonderful time together. I invited Linni and she surprised me on the last day with a pizza picnic in the park, which made me so happy!

In addition, on January 04th, we walked together over the Harbour Bridge in the afternoon because we hadn't had a chance to do it until then. The views of the harbor, the Opera House, and the Sydney skyline were spectacular. We arrived at Luna Park just in time for our last sunset together in Australia. The park's cool 3D gate was lit up with black light in the twilight. We sat on the pier and watched as the colors of the sky changed, feeling sad that we wouldn't be together anymore starting from tomorrow.

Afterwards, we walked back on the Harbour Bridge and passed by Anna's hostel, so we stopped by to visit her. We talked about gross cockroach stories and laughed together on her rooftop terrace with the best view until everything hurt, and then we said our difficult goodbyes to each other.

It was amazing how close we had become with Anna and how wonderful the time with Linni had been.

But I was also excited for what was to come, and it was kind of cool to soon be on my own and experience something new.

One thing the guy in Newcastle had said to us came to mind: 'When you're together, you're always in your comfort zone because you know you have each other no matter what.' Well, it's time to step out of my comfort zone now.

The end of Goon, all Goon!

Song(s) of the day: 'I Will Always Return' by Bryan Adams because it just gives me a good feeling and I know that I will always find my way back to my friends and family, even if it's just the start of my own adventure now.
