Hello, landed in Darwin at 5 am!

Wɔatintim: 10.08.2019

Super, everything went smoothly, the Aussies let us in ;-)

We are in Australia!!!

Singapore - our short trip to the world of luxury!
Then we flew with the budget airline: Jetstar, instead of snacks, we got a lemon candy.
But everything is good! We had plenty of legroom, (thanks to the add-on package for $80) and arrived safely in Darwin! At the airport in Singapore, I treated myself to an Asian back massage
(for my tired bones), then I had a jasmine tea for relaxation - that was great!

Also, I visited an amazing exhibition at the
'Art and Science Museum': Future World'. It was dark, colorful, futuristic, shimmering, sparkling, spacey, ethereal, and playful - amazing!

While waiting for Mo and Günter at the check-in counter, I struck up a conversation with Steve, a true Aussie from the Northern Territory. He even wrote down some insider tips for Darwin and the Northern Territory for us:

1. On Tuesdays, 'Shennigan's' has Steak Night, where you can get huge juicy steaks for $20 AD!
2. If we venture off the beaten path in the Outback:
Always inform other tourists or Aussies,
3. If our car breaks down:
Stay at the car!
Because a car is easier to find than a person!
4. ... and if not :-(  it's best to set a tire on fire!

5. Also: 'Beware of the Crocs!'
Don't go swimming in any waterhole, last year 5 people were eaten by 5-meter long salties... Ok, let's not do that!

Well, those were some solid tips!

Other than that, we have booked a nice room at 'Kalidonis Taverna' in
Darwin, where we had our first typical 'Australian-Greek' dinner to celebrate.
Everyone was very friendly, and the food was delicious, on the terrace with a pleasant 28 °C.

Otherwise, we are quite tired and will go to bed soon. The plan for tomorrow: First, buy new SIM cards for our phones, we only have Wi-Fi at the hotel.
Telstra is supposed to be a good provider with the most cell towers nationwide.

And then comes the car question:

4-WD (Four-Wheel Drive) or camper?
Toyota, Nissan, or ...?
Buy or rent?
With a rooftop tent or without?

Fortunately, 'our man in Noosa' (Maximilian) has already done some research for us and will email us his latest tips.

11:00 PM - exhausted
OK, more tomorrow - for now, a good night!
