Visit to Western Hospital

Wɔatintim: 04.12.2018

I sprained my foot. Such a mess. Didn't see a small edge in the sand. The pain got worse in the afternoon. Heinzi is buying a stretch bandage. I can't walk on the uneven sand. It's not swollen or bruised, but painful. I tried using Ibu, but it didn't work. Maybe a metatarsal bone is fractured? I urgently need crutches. They take care of it and drive me across the island to the hospital.

From the car straight into a wheelchair. Forms, passport. Doctor is 600 baht, but I need the orthopedist. 3 x-rays are 3000 baht, another orthopedist. Nothing is broken, just a strained ligament. A German nurse is translating. I should not put weight on the foot for a week and then come back. Heinzi is drinking cappuccino and eating cookies. Everything is going smoothly. Staff dressed like flight attendants in short skirts. I get a bandage, and the crutches are adjusted to the right length. And of course, medication. Tramal, something for swelling, something for inflammation. Nicely packaged and labeled.

Credit card = 16250 baht

Of course, they also take us back to the hotel across the island. I decline, we will be picked up again by the owner of the resort.

I'm lying in the hammock with my leg up, reading. Since we've been here on the beach, I haven't even been to the town once. But I can eat here at the resort. The people are very helpful.

The pain is better with Tramal, but I feel a bit sick. We will stay until Thursday, then we will head back to Bangkok.

Best regards, Karin
