Our journey was slowly but surely coming to an end. Today we headed back to our starting point: Vancouver. But before that, we had to settle our bill for breakfast and parking at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa. A whopping $70 for two days of parking and one breakfast. Let's just leave that uncommented for now. We had breakfast at a small cafe on the promenade instead; it was much cheaper.
The way to Vancouver is not very far from here, so it doesn't take long until we arrive at the gun range, where we will shoot real guns for the first time. For Luke, this is obviously THE highlight of the vacation. He had been looking forward to it the whole time. The registration process is very uncomplicated. You enter your personal data, present your ID, choose your weapons and calibers, and off you go. After a brief introduction, we head straight to the shooting range, where we are allowed to shoot at paper targets under the supervision of a staff member. At first, we shoot with a small pistol, which is still incredibly loud. Later on, we use the rifle. But the recoil is too strong for me, so I let Luke have the fun. We spend about an hour there in total. Shooting was definitely an interesting experience, but I don't think I would do it regularly. However, Luke really enjoyed it; our interests differ a bit ;)
After the little shooting training, we then went to our accommodation in Vancouver.
