England June 2017

Wɔatintim: 30.04.2018

Just two weeks after our trip to Crete, we are already going to England. We have been invited to Luke's cousin's wedding. Since Luke is a native Englishman, half of his family lives there. While we are there, we have decided to spend a few days on the coast in Scarborough and Whitby after the wedding. Overall, we spent a week in England.

But first, our journey takes us to Sheffield. For this, we have to get up quite early again, as our flight to Manchester on June 2nd starts at 7:40 am from Frankfurt. After 1.5 hours of flight time, we land on time on the island. While it is about 30 degrees Celsius in Germany, rain awaits us here, typical for England. But at least it is not particularly cold. From the airport, we take the train to Sheffield, and then a taxi from the train station takes us to Luke's grandmother's house. We will be staying here until the next day. The wedding will take place the day after. His grandmother is already staying with Tanke and Onkle in Doncaster, where the wedding will also be. We share the small house with Luke's father, his girlfriend, and later his brother will join us as well. Very little space for so many people...

As soon as we arrived, we went out for a meal. For that, we had to walk for about 30 minutes, which wouldn't be too bad, except that I would have preferred to just sleep. We had been up since 4 am.

After dinner, we finally had some peace and the day could slowly come to an end. We went to bed early, as we wanted to be fit for the wedding the next day. However, it was a mystery to me how we would all get ready in the small house in the morning...
