Christmas market, fireworks
today was a pretty nice day, we saw Fredi and Martina (the German couple we met in Karijini NP) again today. The two unfortunately didn't have much time but it was still very nice to see them again! Together we strolled through the Christmas market and ate Bratwurst with sauerkraut at the 'German Bratwurst' stand :-), yammi! Nevertheless, the Christmas market here simply cannot be compared to home, not only in terms of the climate but also in terms of the atmosphere and the market stalls.
We spent the whole day with Fredi and Martina, after the Christmas market we went to 'King George Square' in the city (somewhat like a town hall square) at 7:30 p.m. to see the famous Christmas light show.
It was mega impressive, a little Christmas light story was projected onto a huge building and Christmas music was playing. After the light show, we went back to Southbank (where the Christmas market was) and on the way there we could watch the daily fireworks from a bridge :-).
The fireworks will take place every evening until Christmas. One evening we both want to see the fireworks from the Coo-tha Lookout!! Unfortunately, Fredi and Martina said goodbye after the fireworks and are now continuing their journey towards Melbourne. Who knows, maybe we'll see each other there again. For us, it was time to go back to the campsite, but there is also an outdoor cinema at Southbank Lagoon every day until Christmas. Here we watched a movie comfortably on the 'beach' in the city and then strolled back to the car. A pretty nice day :-) We have to say, for a short time, maybe a little Christmas mood came up.. but just a little bit.
