Let's continue to Lamington NP, or not?
Since there is nothing holding us in Brisbane, we have decided to continue driving. We also don't want to wait for a call that may not even come.
On the way to the Gold Coast (the next destination), there were several national parks that we didn't want to miss.
The first destination towards the Gold Coast was Tamborine National Park. It is said to have a fantastic view from Tamborine Mountains, and we can confirm that.
The NP is 90 km away from Brisbane. When we arrived at the top of the mountain, we had a missed call on our phone, but unfortunately, we didn't have network to call back.
On the way back down the mountain to another viewpoint, the phone rang again. Stefan from RealChristmasTrees was on the phone and asked if we could work today. We were only 90 km away, so we immediately went back to Ashgrove because Stefan had also promised us work for next week.
When we arrived at RealChristmasTree, we were warmly welcomed. Mike's task will be to advise the customers in the 'Shed' and carry the trees back and forth. (Usually only the men work in the shed) Jenny's task is to work in the shop. As a salesperson, customer service, phone duty, and cashier. It's funny, we don't even realize how good our English is.
It's not a problem to advise the customers. Since we only arrived at 2 p.m. today, we could only work for 6 hours. The work was a lot of fun! Amalia, the HR manager, has also promised us work for the next three weeks, perfect for us!
Even though we won't spend Christmas and New Year's in Sydney, we will only be a 10-minute walk away at a caravan park in our car =). Some colleagues also live at the caravan park (Tom and Michel from the Netherlands and James from England). It's nice to work again, especially because the work is so much fun. We are looking forward to tomorrow!
