Stage 18 Piesca to Gijon

But I didn't go out with Franzisco and Michael this morning. They were so relaxed at the breakfast table shortly before eight that I don't expect them to start before 10. In addition, as Michael told me last night, they will have a 3-course menu (Menu del Dia) for lunch. Do they really want to arrive in Gijon today? I say goodbye, wish a 'Bon camino' and 'hasta luego' in Gijon.

Oh no, the booking.com email for my booked bed confirms the stay from October 01 to 02, I made a mistake when booking the date. I go online a few times on the way and message the accommodation, hopefully it works out because it's the weekend and Gijon is supposed to be busy.

Around noon, I meet Muchael at a café, what a surprise. 'I got lost,' he says ------- I wish I could too, then I would already be here. But he also couldn't avoid the high mountain..Francisco is not with him though. He arrives a short time later. Well, the two of them will now order their menu, time for me to continue after my Cortado. This morning, I bought a baguette and cold cuts, fruit and yogurt from the DIA supermarket and will have lunch on a nice cycling spot along the way.

Before that, there is another climb, tough but nowhere near as exhausting as the one an hour ago. When I reach the 'summit,' I can already see Gijon...... from a distance.
