Actually, Carsten, Jan-Luca, and I wanted to make a Canada trip in 2020. The camper, flights, and hotels were booked, the travel guides purchased. Then came Corona and ruined everything. Germany didn't let anyone out and Canada didn't let anyone in. We were able to cancel the flights, we received a voucher for the camper, and it was a bit more complicated with the hotels, but after a long back and forth, and with the realization never to book with Agoda again, we also received credit for the hotel nights.
Now, 2 years later, we are planning our Canada trip again, but this time it's just the two of us because Jan has to study now. And so it's called.....
Honey, we're off again
The preparations are now slowly picking up speed. Although we should step it up a notch now because there are only 10 days left until departure. It feels like nothing is ready yet. I think the route is set and a few campsites are reserved. Today, we started laying out our enamel mugs, placemats, and sleep masks. A start has been made. But the list is still long:
Upload vaccination certificates, print documents like camper reservations, screw on the new baseboards (we're renovating on the side), lay out clothes, pack Leon's birthday present, order magnesium and other remedies, a few preventive check-ups in between, organize watering plants and taking out mail....
and once again, time is too short.
Almost 4 weeks through the vastness of wild Canada - face to face with the grizzly and black bears, turquoise lakes, endless forests, and breathtaking views - that's what the travel guide promises, and you will be able to follow along.
