Off to the French Riviera

Yesterday, we left our amazing accommodation Villa Catherine in Flayosc and headed to the French Riviera. Our hosts would have loved to keep us there :-)! Unfortunately, my last night in Flayosc wasn't great. I was woken up by the annoying buzzing of a mosquito, and even Princess Littlefoot seemed annoyed somehow. So, I turned on the light, put on my glasses, and started looking for the mosquito. It was extremely annoying, but I managed to get rid of the little pest. I turned off the light and went back to sleep. But no, five minutes later, that persistent buzzing in my face again. I wanted to cry, it's so annoying! So, I turned on the light once again and started searching. The mosquito flew directly at me, so I killed it with a clap of my hands, and there was another one sitting on the curtain. It was insane. But after that, it was quiet and I woke up in the morning feeling exhausted. My eyes were barely open. Only Daniela, she probably takes a pill in the evening, and I have no idea about it :-)!

We drove all the way down to St. Tropez and then followed the coastal road. We stopped at some beach areas and went swimming. The sea was pleasantly warm and the wind was very refreshing. We continued along the coast, with those amazing tall palm trees lining the roads and beautiful coves. The port of Cannes was worth a visit, but everything seemed very touristy. It was too much for us! We drove a bit further along the coastal road and then headed towards Monaco. In Monaco, we found accommodation in a mountain village. Guys, even the drive to the accommodation was a highlight. We were supposed to park at the village parking lot and then walk to the church. That's where our landlady Natalie was waiting for us. She guided us to our apartment and told us a lot about the old town. Then we stood in a small square with a view of Monaco, and she said 'this is your apartment'. WOW! We've been so lucky with our accommodation so far. We quickly settled in and walked around the old town. That view of Monaco was just incredible. Even Princess Littlefoot was impressed, because she didn't want to leave my arm anymore. She's quite clever, the queen... grins.

The first night was more than a dream, oh I'm so happy and grateful :-))))! My eyes are back to their normal size!

So now we're heading to Monaco and Menton. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.

Oh, did I mention before? We haven't had a single day of rain yet. The weather is fantastic. Take care... bye bye!
