Beachlife and TukTuk Safari in and around Arugam Bay

Wɔatintim: 07.06.2018

We went down from the highlands to the southeast to the famous Arugam Bay. Truly a surfer's paradise and for two nights we treated ourselves to the most expensive accommodation so far at the Upali Beach. A small cabana with its own open-air bathroom right on the beach - what a great place to relax for two days.

But just lying around wasn't on the agenda - so we spent one morning trying to surf and thanks to the consistently great waves, we both caught some cool rides.

In the afternoon, we spent several hours on a TukTuk Safari. Instead of paying for the official jeep into Yala National Park, we sat in a TukTuk for five hours and let ourselves be driven around. In addition to various crocodiles, a jackal, several elephants, monkeys, and smaller animals, our guide also showed us a great viewpoint with a view of the surrounding area and of course a Buddha statue.

We were also able to successfully complete our friends' challenge back home - Silvio and Tamara. They were here last year and played Uno in the Gecko Bar and now they are missing a +4 card in their set. Challenge: bring one with you! Intentionally and successfully taken, as they say.
