Early in the morning I make my way to the airport in Cairns - my flight to Darwin leaves shortly after 9am.
A little bit of sadness is mixed in as the plane takes off - Cairns was really worth the trip as a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
I land in Darwin at noon local time - a humid heat greets me. Over 30 degrees and extremely high humidity - I have obviously arrived in the tropics. I pick up my rental car (a huge 4WD) and check into the hotel in the early afternoon.
It's really hard to move and my circulation is not happy about the drastic change in climate.
It's also too hot at the pool... I treat myself to an ice cream and lots of water - no wine ;-)))
Before dinner I am so sweaty that a shower is indispensable... The dinner is ok, although average...
The bar where I spend the evening is very nice and right by the water...
Tomorrow I'm off to Kakadu National Park (for those over 30 - where the movie Crocodile Dundee was filmed... ;-)))
I have to leave very early, at 10am I make a stopover at the Billabong Resort - keyword crocodiles...:-)))
And then onwards to Kakadu !
So my dears, let's see how the internet is there... You will hear from me at the latest on Saturday - I'm looking forward to my last days here Down Under... :-)))
