Although Freiburg is said to be the sunniest city in Germany according to statistics, my friend and I didn't notice much of it on our short trip because when it wasn't raining, it was very foggy.
We started our visit with a trip to the cemetery, where we visited the grave of Julius' grandparents. We also strolled through the city center, which wasn't much fun because of the rain. Instead we went shopping and found a house that had all sorts of food and all the food stalls shared seating and dishes. I thought that was great. We also visited the Freiburg Minster and walked up the Schlossberg, where, thanks to the fog, we somehow didn't find the promised tower. Instead, we got a bit lost on the light rail. We were hoping for better weather in the nearby French town of Colmar, which we strolled through, but it wasn't any better. Our trip to the Black Forest, where we took the gondola up the Schauinsland mountain, was literally no more promising. But we always got really good food everywhere.
