Freedom Campsite, Lake Hawea

On the recommendation of the two German guys, we drive to the Blue Pools. The Blue Pools are clear, blue, and icy cold springs with a suspension bridge over them. We take a look at them and go for a swim. After watching many others jump into the water from the suspension bridge, we gather the courage to jump over the railing ourselves and dive about 7m into the beautiful water. Afterwards, we drive towards Queenstown and spend the night at a campsite with a magnificent view of the valley just a few kilometers before Queenstown. Shortly after we arrive, a German couple (between 30 and 40 years old) arrives as well, and we strike up a conversation with them. They invite us for a glass of wine, and it turns into a really nice evening with pleasant conversations, which is only interrupted by the rain at night.
