To celebrate the snow, we went to Bernaadi (I'm not sure if that's really what it was called, but it sounded like it), where we first had a meal in a cozy restaurant, or consumed, as I like to say. Afterwards, we took a walk through the beautiful landscape, where we actually ran into my former host family and chatted for a bit before moving on. I think I've never seen so many Letts at once, but also never so much Latvian snow, which surely enticed the population of Liepāja to leave their homes. Well, on the crazy Latvian "mountains", the children frolicked and destroyed the ground with their sledges, so great was their joy over the small slopes. When we arrived, they actually looked more brown than white. Otherwise, sledding in Latvia, like in Bitterfeld, means that adults pull their children on sledges through the park (which I did plenty of at Christmas). And then I saw it, gray and shining like concrete; the Baltic Sea. I think I was truly going through withdrawal. Beautiful and unpredictable, just like me, I almost wanted to say. Hopefully not too many people will read this. Well, I guess I shouldn't have chosen a publicly accessible internet portal for my purposes. But fortunately, my loyal and mostly non-existent readership knows me personally. With that said, greetings to all of you ;)
