The city of Battambang doesn't offer much for tourists. That's why we spontaneously let ourselves be convinced by a tuk-tuk driver to go on a tour yesterday. And we didn't regret it. The first stop was the 'Bamboo Train', a bit crazy but also fun. You sit on a bamboo construction with a motor, a tuk-tuk on rails, then you go 20 minutes in one direction and the same back.
Afterwards, we visited a cave known as the killing cave, because the Khmer Rouge killed thousands of people here. Unfortunately, there are several places like this in Cambodia.
Then a temple situated on a mountaintop came just right to change our thoughts.
But the most beautiful experience was the sunset with bat flight. Incredible amounts of bats fly out of their cave in an endless long train at sunset. It was very touching to see. Unfortunately, we can't upload the video we made.
Well, then suddenly Michael got a fever, which continued into this morning. We feared it was malaria, so we went straight to the clinic for an examination. However, the doctor there gave the all-clear and suspected a throat infection. The examination, blood test, and medication were available for $28. Now he is resting and feels on the way to recovery. Luckily!
