We are driving through the Strait of Hormuz into the Persian Gulf and in this area there are pirates. The crew has therefore taken protective measures and mounted water cannons and sound cannons (under the red protective covers) on the ship at regular intervals.
When the alarm is triggered, we must go to the interior of the ship. So into rooms without external windows or doors.
The risk of piracy has decreased somewhat. Several years ago, the decks were additionally secured with barbed wire and there were armed soldiers on board. This apparently is no longer necessary.
