Mexiko-Stadt

已發表: 14.07.2016

HI guys,

Mexiko-Stadt is definitely bigger than we imagined. Fortunately, we stayed here for a week to see as much as possible, and we visited some attractions and museums. For example, the Basilica de Guadalupe, Palacio de National, Museum de Antropologie.

Starting from the beginning on 01.07.16, we arrived at the airport and went to Fabiola's parents' apartment (actually, I had booked a room directly in Fabiola's apartment, but a water damage led us to her parents' place). After a day of relaxation, we started exploring the city center Zocala on Sunday. The best view of Zocala Square can be seen from one of the restaurants on the top floors of the surrounding buildings.

On Monday from 10:00-13:00, we attended a Spanish course in the city. Surprisingly, very few people speak English in Mexiko City, so we decided to learn Spanish. As it turned out, this is impossible in one week 😬 But we have grasped the basics... more or less. We diligently attended the course from Monday to Friday. After class, we always headed to the next attraction. A special boat trip with a trajinera on Xochimilco is worth mentioning.

Our landlords gradually became a real host family. They introduced us to Mexican cuisine. For example, we had Tamales (ground corn cooked in corn husks), Viena (meat soup), and of course, Tacos and Tortillas to the point of saturation.

Mexiko City is quite hectic, especially in traffic and with buses and subways. That's why we were looking forward to our next destination, Palenque.

Best regards, your Egger girls
