Have a wonderful day togetherย

After a relatively restless night, we started the first real day of our vacation very relaxed.

At 9 o'clock my mom woke me up with the words "Hey sweetie, if we still want breakfast..." and I jumped out of bed โ˜บ๏ธ

The breakfast buffet is really great and there is nothing missing! From freshly prepared eggs & omelettes, to fruits, cereal, bread (they even have croissants!), to rice with vegetables and meat - everything is there!

We enthusiastically tried everything and finished just in time at 10 o'clock when the buffet closed โ˜บ๏ธ

Then we went to our bungalow and decided to relax a bit on the loungers by the pool (with a sea view ๐Ÿ˜).

At 1 o'clock it was finally time:

Get ready for the climbing afternoon and go to the meeting point!

We were already very excited and couldn't wait to get started.โ˜บ๏ธ

Exactly at 2 o'clock we reached our meeting point, where everyone was already waiting for us โ˜บ๏ธ

We walked directly to Railay West Beach, where some of the climbing walls are located. Since we didn't book a private tour, there was another couple in our group. At first, I was a bit skeptical because the two had never climbed before and I couldn't imagine how our guide would connect both levels.

But all my doubts were swept away after a few minutes. Our guide did a great job! First, he sent my mom and me up an easy route, and when he saw that we were not beginners, he reacted quickly: He pulled out another rope for us and sent us to other free ropes that had already been set up. We climbed together a few times, and when the first signs of fatigue became noticeable, the rest of the group joined us again. Now we increased the level together until we reached the last route, a 6a+, which only I took. The route was really tough! There was a section that was overhanging and had hardly any holds and steps. I fell 4-5 times at this point, but by now we had all become a real team and I could hear the shouts from below: 'You can do it!', 'We believe in you!', 'Keep fighting, we want to see you at the top!'

Guys, I'm not kidding, I really wanted to give up, my muscles were completely exhausted and I really thought that I just couldn't do it and that it was too much. But the shouts and the encouraging words managed to motivate me so much that I actually mastered this key section! I hadn't been so satisfied with my own performance in a long time as in the moment when I actually touched the ring, which was the end of the route.

As soon as I was back down, the guide said completely relaxed: Cool, now you can take a break and then climb the same route again - I need my quickdraws (Two carabiners connected by a sling to guide the rope). Then he laughed and said, 'This is a good exercise for you, I've climbed this route a thousand times.'

Even though I was completely exhausted, I knew he was right and it would really do me good - besides, he needs his quickdraws *laughs out loud*

The second time it went really better, I did fall once again, but I managed it on the second try.

Everyone cheered, my mom took some great photos under the guidance of our guide, and when I had solid ground under my feet again, we headed back.

We were so happy! What a great day!!!!

On the rest of the way, we all chatted together about EVERYTHING and thanked each other for the fun, shared afternoon.

Mom and I immediately booked the next tour for the day after tomorrow. Based on our guide's advice, we decided to go for a private tour this time. He said that way he could be flexible with us in terms of location and routes, and the additional cost was hardly worth mentioning: Instead of CHF 54.- we now pay CHF 81.- - for both, another half day. What else can you say but 'sure, let's do it!'. :)

By now it was 6 o'clock and we were hungry again :)
We went to the restaurant that we already saw yesterday and decided to try it out today. In our opinion, it is the most beautiful one on the peninsula, as it is really lovingly and excitingly decorated. Typically Thai, we sat on the floor with a beanbag for our back and the sea was no more than two meters away from us.

First, we started with two cocktails to toast to the successful day, and then we ordered something to eat right away.
Mom tried fried rice in a pineapple, and I had to have a Massaman curry - soooooo delicious, but somehow you don't get it in Switzerland as good as here...

Afterwards, we made our way back to our hotel, mom had an espresso with a waffle as dessert, and I had a Thai tea :).

Now we are back in our bungalow and getting ready for bed :)

I will upload the pictures from yesterday right away, but you will probably have to wait a bit for the pictures from today - until tomorrow :)

Dear all, we wish you a fantastic evening and send you sunny greetings!
See you again tomorrow ;)
