Sound bombastic? It is!
From September 15th to 21st, we are touring Poland and Ukraine. I say 'WE', even though I have only recently joined.
The main focus is on encounters and exchanges. The idea originated in connection with the planned expansion of city partnerships and friendships of the city of Gudensberg. Therefore, performances are planned in our partner city Jelcz-Laskowice (in Poland near Wrocław) and in the friendly city of Schtschyrez (in Ukraine near Lviv). In addition, performances in Wrocław, Krakow and Lviv are planned.
Unfortunately, there is no funding for the trip. Therefore, all participants pay for themselves - nevertheless, the choir remains numerically strong. But there are also reinforcements!
Mayor Frank Börner has looked among the city councillors and members of the council's executive committee, who else should join and has found some. It fit well, especially to address the members of the partnership committee of the city council.
That's where I come back into play. But not alone. The city councillors Ingbert Radloff and Karl-Heinz Millich are also coming, as well as the city councillors Karsten Westrup and myself. With Walter Pippert and Jochen Noll, two city councillors are already in the choir. It just fits well to perform together in the choir. I am very happy about that!
'Once you're in, you're always in', were my words when I accepted. So I will continue to sing even beyond the trip. I am excited to be part of it, especially because there are two more 'Höhmänner' joining us.
