Paracas and Ballesta Island

已發表: 06.08.2017

After all the prehistoric hieroglyphs and mummies, we needed a bit of a change. Ballesta Island was just right for that. Our super guide described the island as Galapagos for the poor. It wasn't as amazing and rich in animal species, but still quite nice. The island is home to cute little Humboldt penguins, sea lions, and countless bird species.

The island is famous mainly because of its bird droppings. Every 5 or 7 years, these are removed by people who are not sensitive to the smell and then exported all over the world. If you need it 😊. Otherwise, the island is closed to the public. The guided tour was unfortunately very touristy, so we quickly escaped to the Paracas Peninsula. There is not much to discover on the peninsula. But that's exactly why it was beautiful. Lonely cliffs with breathtaking views.
