我旅行中最好的經歷之一

已發表: 15.04.2019

On 28.02.2019, I drove from Akaroa to Christchurch because my time in Akaroa was ending and in a few days my ferry back to Wellington was leaving.

For my grand finale on the South Island, I had planned something very special, which is why I drove from Christchurch to Kaikoura on 29.02.2019.

I had seen a few days before that you can do a dolphin tour in Kaikoura, and specifically at sunrise.

Since such activities are always quite costly, I had been considering for a long time whether it was really worth it and whether I should do it.

In the end, luckily, I decided to do it, and it was one of the best decisions of my trip.

I had already done a dolphin tour in Akaroa, but this one was very different because this time it was not Hector dolphins but Dusky dolphins (Lagenorhynchus obscurus).

Dusky dolphins are known for being very active and interested in humans. They jump out of the water and spin around or do several "somersaults".

This tour is one of the best things I have done so far, and the sunrise was beautiful. I have developed a bit of a preference for sunrises in New Zealand, so I had planned to observe one last sunrise on the South Island, but I did not expect it to be during a dolphin tour.

Additionally, the special thing was that I was the only one on the boat who did not swim with the dolphins, but only observed them, which is why I got the best tips from the crew and the captain.

The most important thing about this post are the pictures, because they show very well how unique these moments were for me.
