..and I had to take it literally again 🙈
After I made my way to Khaosan Road (THE street in Bangkok where everyone has to go) on Sunday afternoon and got ripped off by the first taxi driver, that's when Bangkok really began for me.
A huge party street and they try to sell you something different on every corner. So I wasn't even there for 2 minutes and already ended up in a back room for a tailored suit. Luckily, I managed to escape 😇
I strolled around and looked for the restaurant 'Greenhouse'. Sandra recommended me to eat Pa Thai there. When I finally found it, I immediately ordered Pa Thai and a large beer. At the next table, there were two guys, I started talking to them and it turned out that both of them were from Los Angeles and going to Tokyo tomorrow.
We exchanged numbers, as we wanted to explore the city together in the evening.
Afterward, I continued wandering around and went towards the harbor. In between, I had a 'small' Gin Tonic, which was served in a bucket...
...Eieieiei...
I had arranged to meet the two guys at Club Insanity at ten o'clock. At least that's what I thought, but it turned out later that I misunderstood, as I sat alone in the club for half an hour after paying a ridiculously expensive entrance fee. It turned out that they had decided to go to a different club and somehow I didn't realize that.. Well, never mind, off to that club it was. And it was amazing...
An enormous rooftop party
In between, I kept meeting new people and it was so funny. At some point during the evening, I also met two Dutch guys who had emigrated to Bangkok years ago and thought that we should make the night into day. They were in the right place with me 😎
So we went to the next club and the next and the next until no one was open anymore, and we spontaneously moved the after-show party to my hotel room. At some point, there were four of us...
At some point, when it was already very bright outside, they left too. What a night...
In the afternoon, despite my hangover, I continued exploring Bangkok, including a free boat ride because I got on the wrong boat. Just so you know, Sören, boats with yellow flags can also be boats from random hotels 😂😜 But Thais have a good sense of humor and laughed at me...
Other than that, I had a funny tuk-tuk ride where I was supposed to be shown different Buddhas. Suddenly, at the last one, my driver disappeared and I was able to escape without paying... I had to save money anyway because the previous evening was already super expensive.
And now, it's time to continue planning because tomorrow I have to leave the hotel room and I'm not sure yet if I really want to leave Bangkok already 😝
