The Catlins are a region with impressive landscape. We are slowly running out of adjectives, how should we describe this view of the beach at Florence Hill. Or Cathedral Caves, the beach is equally impressive there. And then there is a rock tunnel on the beach, 30m high and 200m long - wow - but only passable at low tide. Or Curio Bay, the beach is simply impressive, but we are repeating ourselves ... Maja and Jana went swimming with dolphins in the icy cold water. Just like that ...
On the other side there is a 170 million year old petrified forest where penguins can be seen at dusk.
On the way back we made a stop at Nugget Point, where we could observe many, many seals.
Maja and Jana are cooking for us again today, really delicious.
Tomorrow we are heading to Dunedin.
PS: The weather is perfect again today. As Jana says: Travel luck!
