Amed's coastal road

已發表: 21.09.2019

Yesterday we finally rented a scooter. What's funny is that nobody here asks for age or driver's license, which is unusual for us. It was fine with me because I don't have an international driver's license, which is apparently required here :-). What was also funny, the lady from the scooter rental said; word for word 'if you break it, you pay for it'. Oh, we inspected the scooter together. I said to her, what about all these scratches here? 'Aaaah it doesn't matter, only if you crash, then you pay' :-))))))) Yes, that's how it is here. We also got two helmets and that's it.

Of course, the helmets were disinfected first. You never know.

We had already chosen the most beautiful snorkeling spots in advance and that's where we went. We were super fast there on the scooter. What's really cool here is that you can just hang the helmets on the scooter, they don't get stolen here.

At the beach, we took two loungers and immediately went into the water. Actually, you might think, what could be different here than at our hotel reef. But it's always something different. I was totally thrilled. There were fish here that I had never seen anywhere before. We were in the water for almost an hour and took lots of photos.

Afterwards, we chilled on the loungers and discussed whether we should fly to Sulawesi or Flores. Actually, we definitely wanted to go to Sulawesi, but the attractions there are quite far apart. We're talking about multiple bus rides of 13 hours each. Unfortunately, Sulawesi is out :(

In the evening, I was already lying on the bed - behind the mosquito net - and I saw something big on the wall. Since I didn't have my glasses on, I asked Daniela, who was in the middle of the room, what was on the wall. Is it an outlet or is something moving there? Ugh, a big beetle, disgusting. And what do most women do when they see such a creature, they run around hysterically and screaming. I closed the mosquito net tightly around me and shouted. Daniela was allowed to call the service to have someone remove the bug. A young guy quickly came, he grinned. When he saw the bug, he said - uuuuhhh - okay i catch it. Ugh, the bug even fell on his arm, baaaaaahhhhh - too bad I couldn't take any photos, but my cellphone was under this creature and nobody dared to go there.....! Unbelievable, the girls...:-)

So this morning we made arrangements for the next journey. Tomorrow we'll take the plane to Flores. There we will visit the attractions and probably travel a bit more relaxed than on Sulawesi.

Today we drove along the coastal road again with the scooter and stopped at beautiful beach sections to snorkel. It was another super beautiful and especially relaxing day. Did I already mention something about our weather? NO! It's 'UNBELIEVABLY GOOD' every day! :-)

We're about to go to a fantastic Italian restaurant here, I'm really looking forward to it:-)!

Best regards from the snorkeling paradise Amed, Anke, Daniela and Karl the bug :-)
