From Sydney itself, we naturally didn't see anything, we saved that for New Year's. When we arrived in Katoomba, rain clouds greeted us... not so great when you only have 2 days to explore the area. Luckily, the weather was on our side and the sun came out relatively quickly, which hasn't let us down until today. We had 2 wonderful days with incredible views, kilometers-long hikes, and fun cable car rides. At first, we weren't sure if the two days would be enough for us, but yes, they were. Just today, we walked about 15 km, my feet hurt, I'm absolutely exhausted, and I'm really glad that I don't have another hike tomorrow. We also took so many photos, my memory cards wouldn't survive any more days xD.Since it's really difficult to put the impressions into words, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I'm incredibly happy to be able to see all of this and I've fallen in love with this country - it's just a shame that it's on the other side of the world.
I'm often asked if I'm homesick... Well, to be honest, I don't have time for that. Time flies by so incredibly fast here, every time I think it's Monday, it's already Thursday again (yes, here I have to rely on my phone to tell me which day it is) and I can't even believe that it's been 1 month since I was at the airport and the 4 months felt like 4 years. I'm so relaxed and balanced, like never before in my life, and I really try to enjoy every second. Of course, I miss the little things of everyday life like deciding when and what to eat and do on my own, sleeping alone (those who know me know how complicated I am in that regard), Sundays with my parents, or hanging out with my friends, and of course, I really miss the individual people, but it feels like I'll be back home in a few days anyway.
