Hello Halong Bay

This morning we took the bus to the world famous Halong Bay. We were picked up from the hotel at 8:00 am and what can I say, it was raining in Hanoi :-), but the forecast for Halong Bay looked promising - sunny -, yippi. 

Quickly to the cold in Sapa, the throat is already feeling much better, thanks to tea that Daniela keeps giving me :-(). But the nose is still running. So, not a big deal. Let's go to Halong Bay.

The bus journey took a little over 4 hours and was very impressive once again. We passed through several provinces/villages and it was much calmer here than in Hanoi. 

During our first stop, we were able to buy postcards and I said to Daniela 'look here, there's a scooter with a cow on it'. She told me to take the card.... Noooo, that must be staged and I actually only want cards with motifs that I have really seen myself... Hm, and what do you think happened after about 12 km? Exactly, a local on his scooter, with a dead cow on the back  :-().... I was speechless and couldn't even take a photo of it, I was just flattened. How can a scooter endure such weight? It's just incredible what they transport on scooters and how much!!!!

We arrived in Halong Bay on time and were boarded onto our boat :-). It's very beautiful and we were spoiled with a lunch right away, where we wondered who is going to eat all of this? There was really almost everything, from fish to chicken, etc. and really too much. Strengthened by the delicious food, we set off on our first tour. We visited a cave. That was very exciting and there were great light animations.

But the best part was the 45 minutes with the kayak. Daniela and I were a very good team, let's see if we can qualify for the next Olympic Games. It was a 2-person kayak and Daniela sat in the front and of course I sat in the back :-). We then paddled along the rocks, unfortunately we were not allowed to paddle into any caves. Oh well, it was a great experience to glide here with the kayak :-). We were even able to watch the sunset in Halong Bay from the kayak, and that was something very special.

Freshly showered, we are now sitting in the lounge area of the boat and waiting for dinner. After that, karaoke will be sung. Hm, I'm curious and will definitely report on that tomorrow. Sending lots of love to all of you, tam biet!!!!!

PS: What can I say? 'Dancing Queen' made me the Karaoke Queen 😂👍
