We= 130:2 on the way
Today there are 20 people who are taking a little trip. In previous years, many more fathers - including future fathers - were out and about on all kinds of trails on this traditional "Father's Day hike" with handcarts and crates of beer. This year our hiking tour was spared from this.
The starting point was the car park of a football club in Wössingen. This is where hikers from previous years and some newcomers met. Hans was responsible for choosing the route and Thomas was responsible for the weather: sunshine and a little wind, plus a route that was easy for untrained hikers to manage! So don't forget your sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.
20 pairs of hiking boots set off through a beautiful forest; a little up and down, as is typical for the Kraichgau. In between there was a short introduction to forest bathing with mindfulness and breathing exercises. A short stretch, for example, was covered in silence without a word. Only the sounds of birds and the rustling of the forest could be heard. Very relaxing and touching for the participants.
And then we got a shock: Someone had actually dumped the remains of a household clearance in the middle of the forest! Other hikers had already called the police before us and reported the whole thing. The next "dumping point" was just a few meters away. It's just sad how some people treat nature.
After about nine kilometers, we stopped off at EL BANDIDO in Berghausen for a break. It was already after 1 p.m. and no espresso break was possible on the way. But not there either - coffee is not the restaurant's core competency. From the dining room, guests can take a look into the riding hall. Also interesting. We were allowed to sit outside under large parasols with self-service. Since we only had a little more than six kilometers to go before the final meal, we sat there for a while and relaxed - some of us for a delicious plate of tapas, for example.
Once back on our feet, we walked through fields towards Wössingen. Two older ladies were sitting on a dialect bench who wanted to read this saying to us. A good idea because of the dialect - at least for me.
We passed orchards with grass and flowers blooming underneath, towards the sports fields along the Walzbach to the sports restaurant with the funny name TEEM ONE. Here a large table was set for us and there was a selection of very good dishes. It was a wonderful end, as we are used to from such hikes.
Thanks Hans and Thomas!
See you soon
