We start the day by having breakfast with eggs and toast and think about what to do today. We ask Ian where the nearest supermarket is and he tells us the way to a Carrefour that is a 30-minute walk away.

After a few games, we set off and are happy because we are moving away from the beach and don't only see tourists on the streets. However, the route is quite unspectacular and not necessarily suitable for pedestrians. There is no sidewalk, you mainly move between parking spaces and the road, and you are honked at every few seconds. There are pedestrian traffic lights, but they are only symbolic. Despite all the excitement, we arrive safely at Carrefour and are impressed by the size of the complex. Besides the actual supermarket, there are many small shops and a food court, which we ignore and dive right into the Western shopping experience.

We get cheese, milk, new eggs, pasta, tuna, and other essentials to last us for the next few days. We are particularly impressed by the food court, where you can get local and Western food for a small price. Since we have been paying special attention to our diet lately, we decide to have a giant sandwich with chicken, egg, mayo, and salad; We also get a liter of chocolate milk and four donuts (we simply couldn't resist the offer of four donuts for €1.30) - so super healthy. We leave the supermarket, eat the little snack, and after a short visit to a completely overpriced surfer shop, we go back home.

Ian offered to cook Indonesian food for us today. We gratefully accept the invitation and soon sit in front of a fully loaded table with Mi Goreng (fried noodles with vegetables and peanuts), curry, rice, and scrambled eggs. Ian and his friend, who is also keeping us company, eat with their hands, as is customary in families and friends circles in Indonesia - very interesting to watch, but we stick to spoon and fork. It's super delicious (9/10) and we thank Ian.

Shortly afterwards, beer and spirits are placed on the table; we drink and chat a little - the plan is to go to a pub for billiards. Two more of Ian's friends and two former guests of Lucy join us, so we go towards the pub around 10:00 PM. Jonna and I decline the offer to ride a scooter there and walk the 5 minutes instead.

Arriving at the bar, which is frequented more by locals, we order beer and watch the guys and girls play pool until we are eventually compelled to play a few rounds ourselves. Jonna can get out of the social responsibility, but I am embarrassed by a few locals (although: one round was actually quite close). Feeling pretty tired from the day, we say goodbye to the others around midnight, thank them for the great evening, and go home.
