Moldova bye, Welcome to Romania

Started very early this morning due to expected temperatures. It was a pleasant 18 degrees. An hour later, I reached the capital Chișinău and the thermometer showed 30 degrees. It was expected to rise to 37 degrees throughout the day.🥵

I quickly passed through Chișinău, luckily the traffic was smooth. The roads towards Romania were well-developed compared to the local standards. The border crossing was completely problem-free, and what I found fantastic was that it seemed like motorcyclists were given preferential treatment. I was waved through to the front on both the Moldovan and Romanian sides and processed immediately. (Much to the annoyance of a Porsche driver who had overtaken me dangerously just before the border and was now 10 cars behind me 🤗)

In Romania, the landscapes became more varied again, and most importantly, there were curves again.

It was simply no fun to ride against a hairdryer. When I noticed that my concentration was rapidly decreasing, I checked into a guest room around 2:00 PM already.

The guesthouse is run by a woman in her 50s together with her mother. The woman is simply amazing. I was given two bottles of water in my room, my laundry was washed and hung out to dry, and we had a good conversation (as far as my English skills allowed). When I wanted to pay for the extras, she was almost offended and did not want to accept any money at all. Money is not everything, she said. I enjoy it, it is my dream that I fulfilled after successful cancer therapy.

What a great woman!
