So, after our boss extended it for the 4th time, we were finally done with work on the cherry plantation. We really had one of the easiest jobs you can get on plantations, which was also because our boss was very relaxed. Most other backpackers probably won't report positively about plantation work.

Yes, there are real ice floes... The water also comes directly from the glacier. It wasn't cold, rather quite hot, at least if you're not in the water.
Meanwhile, I'm in Akaroa, on the peninsula near Christchurch, and I've been here before more than two months ago. I'm working here for 1.5 weeks in exchange for food and accommodation. Similar to sometimes getting a free upgrade to first class on a plane because there aren't enough seats left, I got one of the cottages that are normally rented out instead of the workawayer accommodation, because there is another workawayer here at the moment.
I'm definitely super happy here. The whole property is very beautiful and you have a great view of the bay, I live very luxuriously and the work I have to do for it is usually fun.
